What does Delivery Point Verification or DPV identify?

Delivery Point Verification or DPV identifies whether a ZIP+4 coded address is currently represented in the USPS database as a known address record. The DPV product allows users to confirm known USPS addresses as well as identify potential addressing issues that may prevent delivery.

When a record is run through TrueNCOA's DPV product, a DPV Notes field is returned. This Notes Field provides additional information about a record including:

  • Matched Zip4
  • Military address match
  • High rise match
  • Plus More!

USPS describes DPV in detail here.

When you process a file with TrueNCOA, your file will be processed through NCOA, CASS, DPV, and RDI.
